Any player killed in action will act out their death and lay on the ground as per the video demonstration posted by Doc on youtube.com and the lazerstorm.blogspot.com website. They will remain on the ground for 15 minutes after the contact has been resolved and move out to their FOB after that 15 mins is up. When moving out they must raise their tagger above their head and move out using the most direct path. During that 15min, the opposing team may search you for intelligence whereby they will take an ID card from the player left leg pocket. If you do not wish someone to help themselves to your pocket you may give them the card yourself upon their intention to search you for Intel. If you go down during a contact and there are team members around you alive, they may extract you by assisting you to move to the rear of the position at any time. The assisting player must be alive to do this and should he/she be killed in the process, the both of you will remain where you are on the ground.
As this is a military simulation event, all players are expected to operate in real world elements and units of 6 to 10 players per squad/section, etc. It also means that any player rostered on by their CO for Sniper Operations must work with a spotter armed with an AR and should be utilized to support other units actions. A single Sniper group of 2 can quickly be overcome once found. Snipers can be a very important asset and should be utilized and protected as such.
Players can only be Revived at the team’s FOB or by calling in a Casevac through your chain of command (refer to your team CO for instructions closer to the event).
Any captured Intel, weapons or props are expected to be handed in to your Team CO as soon as you can. Some items have rewards associated with them or play a part in your mission objectives.

Latest News - May 2008

Stormia – As the crisis worsens in Stormia, serious questions are being asked about the ability of the UN Security Council decision making and the time it takes to get these decisions into place. Major delays in passing Resolution 3299 which updates the UN Security mission in Stormia to Military Action mission are causing friction in Council members.

Senior UN officials are keen to get military operations underway in response to a complete breakdown of law and order across the whole country.

Civil unrest has been widespread ever since the defeat of the Socialist government in March general elections. Shortly after the result of the election, pro-government forces and groups took to the streets, targeting anti-government supporters and protesters. As the violence escalated, sticks and stones were replaced with weapons, and the unrest spread to all corners of the once semi peaceful country.

A multinational UN police force working to assist the Stormian police to oversee the elections and restore law and order, soon became the target of guerilla and terrorist actions. As the death toll rose, UN member nations began withdrawing their police arguing the situation on the ground had become a military environment. The nations joined with other UN nations to call on the Security Council to upgrade the mission to Military Action to allow member nations to deploy military forces for security and peacekeeping operations.

International Aid agencies are calling for more support for Stormia as they struggle to keep personnel on the ground where they are needed the most. Again this week they have called on Stormia’s neighbors to reopen their borders and allow the fleeing population to cross the border to escape the turmoil.

The International Red Cross has a personal goal to see Stormia become stable as they have had 4 workers killed to date. “We have to spearhead any move to bring relief to the area as soon as stability is regained, otherwise this loss will be for nothing”, Relief Operations Manager Rick Warren said yesterday in an interview with CNN.

As the delay increases while the UN Security Council debate over the issue whether to send troops into a nation tearing itself apart in bloody civil war, rumors are emerging of a sudden influx of Private Security firms into the areas around Stormia’s borders. While senior stakeholders in Blackwater International are denying any involvement in Stormia, a number of not so recently exposed companies are not going so far in their comments with one such company commenting “if there is a need, we will do what it takes”.
